Safety first!
I recommend all aspiring builders to get a proper pair of shoes before you attempt anything crucial. A pair not designed specifically for these things simply do not work.
And they could jeopardize the future mojo of the uke your building.
Phew! Now I feel my uke to be is in safe hands.
