Assembled and sanded

Today I trimmed the excess from the top and back and, sitting in the sun, sanded the body through the grits up to 400. I guess this will be french polished too. My bottles of oil finish have gone strange, they're probably past their best before date.

I think french polish is a very good choice, its only drawback is the longer time it takes me to apply it.

French Polish is awesome. if, like me, you play like a mad dog, it eventually rubs off in certain areas. this is not a bug, it's a feature. I call it love wear.

and the parts that don't get rubbed off age beautifully.

my absolute best-ever ukulele (my Glyph) is French Polished.
